The fifth president of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), Ebo Quansah, has passed away.

His passing comes shortly after the sudden death of Ackah Anthony, the sixth president of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), who served the organisation with distinction.

Both of these legendary figures in Ghana’s sports journalism landscape left indelible marks on the association and the broader sporting community.

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) announced Ebo Quansah’s passing, describing him as a true stalwart who made significant contributions to the association over several decades.

His career with SWAG began long before he became its president, as he steadily rose through the ranks, serving first as Deputy Secretary and later as Secretary-General.

During his presidency from 2001 to 2007, Quansah led SWAG through a period of growth and transformation, elevating the association’s profile and earning it greater recognition and respect within Ghana’s sports media landscape.

After his presidency, Quansah remained committed to SWAG, serving as a patron and sharing his expertise and mentorship with future generations.

Ebo Quansah’s dedication to sports journalism and advancing the profession will leave a lasting legacy in the hearts and minds of those who knew him.
