Deceased Kotoko fan, Pooley

The state has withdrawn charges against four individuals who were brought before the Fiapre Circuit Court in connection with the murder of Francis Yaw Frimpong, well known as Pooley.

According to a report by myjoyonline.com, the four persons who were earlier denied bail are Isaac Fosu, 28, Yeboah Augustine, 35, Elizabeth Akosua Ntiwa, also referred to as Akosua Black Chinese, 37, and Yaa Asantewaa, 37.

They faced charges of abetment of crime to wit; murder, contrary to Sections 20(1) and 46 of the Criminal Offences Act of 1960 (Act 29).

Her Honour Akosua Addae Adoma ruled that the Fiapre Circuit Court lacked jurisdiction to hear the case since it is regarded as a felony.

Consequently, the prosecutor, Inspector Alexander Oppong, requested to withdraw the charges against the accused persons, which Her Honour Adoma agreed to, striking out the case.

The prosecution team at the Bono Regional Police headquarters are preparing to transfer the case to the Sunyani District Court for hearing.

Meanwhile, Nsoatreman owner Ignatius Baffour-Awuah is set to reappear before the court on February 17, 2025.

Pooley was stabbed to death during Asante Kotoko‘s game against Nsoatreman at Nsoatre on February 2, 2025.
