Shareholders of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC have approved a final dividend of GH¢4.989 per ordinary share at the Bank’s 56th Annual General Meeting (AGM), bringing the total payout to GH¢673.48 million.

The approved dividend includes GH¢672.35 million for ordinary shareholders and GH¢1.13 million for preference shareholders, based on the Bank’s performance for the year ended December 31, 2025.

The AGM, held in Accra, also provided the platform for the Bank to present its Annual Report and Financial Statements to shareholders.

The Bank used the occasion to reaffirm its commitment to supporting Ghana’s economic development, as it marks 130 years of continuous operations in the country.

During engagements with shareholders, the Board highlighted the Bank’s longstanding contribution to the economy, particularly in trade, infrastructure development, wealth creation and cross-border banking services.

The Chairman, Mr Ebenezer Twum Asante, is reported to have reiterated the Bank’s commitment to delivering value to shareholders.

He said that as the Bank reflected on the year under review, it remained focused on positioning itself to deliver sustainable returns. He noted that Ghana’s improving macroeconomic outlook offered some optimism, despite ongoing global uncertainties.

Mr Twum Asante added that the Bank remained confident in the strength of its operations, the resilience of its workforce and the relevance of its strategy, and would continue to support clients, contribute to national development and deliver long-term value to shareholders.

The Chief Executive, Mr Xorse Godzi, also indicated that the Bank’s priorities were centred on supporting clients while driving sustainable growth.

He explained that as a “super-connector bank”, Standard Chartered leveraged its international network, local expertise and specialised capabilities to provide cross-border banking solutions that connect Ghanaian businesses and institutions to global markets, capital and innovation.

Mr Godzi added that the Bank would continue to deepen client relationships, strengthen its digital capabilities and deliver solutions to help clients navigate changes in the business environment.

He further stated that as the Bank marked 130 years of operations in Ghana, its focus would remain on disciplined execution, innovation and long-term value creation, while contributing to the country’s economic development.

Established in 1896, Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC has played a significant role in Ghana’s economic transformation by supporting trade and investment, promoting enterprise growth and connecting the country to global opportunities through its international network.

The Bank said it continued to contribute to sustainable economic growth through its core banking operations, responsible business practices, community investment and talent development, while also providing thought leadership to help shape the financial services sector.
