Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams has paid a courtesy call on Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II at his palace, reinforcing collaboration between traditional leadership and state institutions in promoting sports and national development. 

The visit highlighted the role of cultural authorities in supporting Ghana’s sporting ambitions, with the Minister seeking the blessings of the Ga Mantse ahead of major upcoming national and international events.

During the engagement, Hon. Adams announced that the Ghana national football team have qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking their fifth appearance at the global showpiece. He described the achievement as a testament to Ghana’s growing stature in world football and its continued investment in talent development.

The Minister also revealed that Accra will host key continental competitions, including the African Senior Athletics Championships Accra 2026 and the African Armwrestling Championships, aimed at boosting sports tourism and unity.

Hon. Adams commended the Ga Mantse for his leadership and commitment to youth development, noting that his influence remains vital in shaping a supportive environment for sports growth.

In response, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II emphasized the unifying power of sports and its role in national development. He urged unity within the Black Stars camp and called on players to wear the national colours with pride.

The Ga Mantse concluded with prayers for Ghana’s teams to achieve success and bring honour to the nation.
