Spike Lee was held back after he was involved in a heated confrontation with a fan at Yankee Stadium.
The Brooklyn-raised filmmaker and producer is a regular at big New York sporting events, and made his way up to the Bronx for Game 2 of the American League Wild Card Series as the New York Yankees hosted arch-rivals the Boston Red Sox.
But before the game even started, there was drama in a hospitality area involving Lee as he was filmed trying to furiously confront someone in the Legends Suite dining area.
Footage shared on social media showed an agitated Lee in red Yankees gear shouting at an unidentified person nearby while being restrained by staff trying to calm him down.
‘Why’d you come over to me?’ he shouts, before a man in a blue sports jacket points at someone on a nearby table and says: ‘You’ve gotta go. You’ve gotta go.’
According to the New York Post, Lee enters the Legends Suite at around 6:30pm and was happy to take selfies with anyone. He even left seats open at his table for anyone wishing to join him.

But it is claimed that one person asking for a selfie asked Lee to say ‘F*** Palestine’, prompting him to become angry with the individual and seek security.
Another eyewitness claimed online that the man filmed Lee while he was eating then started asking how he felt about Palestine.
The Daily Mail has reached out to the Yankees and Lee’s representatives for comment.
Lee was at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night, sitting behind the home dugout as they claimed a 9-0 win over the Red Sox to take control of the three-game series.
He posted a picture alongside his daughter, Satchel, at the game on social media. On Wednesday, Lee was back as his team looked to book their spot in the next round of the MLB Playoffs.
He was shown in his seat watching the game on the NBC Sports broadcast and pictured cheering on his team as they raced into a commanding lead after his earlier altercation in the Legends Suite.
Back in February, Lee publicly declared his support for Palestine by wearing a bold and politically-charged outfit to the NBA All-Star Game.
The Hollywood director wore a keffiyeh-patterned sweater and had a number of Palestine flags on the strap of the crossbody bag he wore to Sunday’s event in Los Angeles.

Should celebrities be held to higher standards in handling politically charged situations at public events?
The outfit caused a storm as Deni Avdija of the Portland Trail Blazers was becoming the first Israeli to play in the All-Star game, something Lee later claimed was not relevant to his clothing choice.
‘There has been some conjecture about what I wore to the games on Saturday and Sunday. The clothes I wore are symbols of my concern for the Palestinian children and civilians, and my utmost belief in human dignity for all humankind,’ Lee wrote.
‘What I wore was not intended as a gesture of hostility to Jewish people or to support violence against anyone, nor was it intended as a comment on the significance of Deni being an All-Star.’
