On December 2, 2024, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensa, took part in the special voting exercise, casting her ballot at La-Dadekotopon in the Greater Accra Region.

The special voting process, designed to accommodate personnel on election duties, involved over 130,000 voters across 14 regions.

It targets individuals such as security personnel from the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Armed Forces, National Intelligence Bureau, Immigration and Prisons Service, as well as media personnel, election officials, and other stakeholders.

Initially, the exercise was to take place in 328 voting centers across all 16 regions.

However, the Commission rescheduled voting for the Eastern and Western Regions to Thursday, December 5, 2024, due to the leakage of a defaced presidential ballot paper designated for the Eastern Region.
