Veteran Ghanaian rapper, Nii Addo Quaynor, popularly referred to as Tinny has stated that songs that rely on dance challenges to go viral do not last in the music scene.

In an interview with Okay FM, Tinny said most songs today are made specifically for social media, with many of them depending on dance trends to go viral.

According to him, those types of songs usually fade away once the excitement around the dance dies down.

“Songs from this era that come with a dance challenge often are the ones that do not last long. Once the dance trend fades, the song fades away as well,” Tinny said.

He compared recent creations to songs from earlier years, which he believes have a longer lifespan and still sound fresh even after many years.

Tinny also noted that he does not believe in relying on dancers or viral trends to push his music.

He explained that his creative process is centered on making music for his fans and not just for online attention.

“I don’t see myself being in the studio to record a song and then looking for a dancer to promote it for me. I create music for my fans, and I won’t make a song just to hand it over to a dancer to get numbers. I don’t trust that approach,” he added.
