Dinah Hammond is a veteran gospel singer

Ghanaian musician, Dinah Hammond, has mentioned that some female gospel artistes marry pastors mainly to advance their ministry.

Speaking in an interview on Bryt TV, the “Wo Anko Ama Me A” hitmaker explained that there’s a natural connection between pastors and women in gospel music.

According to her, most pastors are easily drawn to female gospel artistes because of their spiritual calling and ministry, while some female gospel musicians also prefer to marry pastors who share the same faith-based vision since they believe that would strengthen their ministry.

“Most pastors tend to be attracted to female gospel musicians and that’s just how their mindset works. On the other hand, some female musicians also choose to marry pastors because they believe it will strengthen their ministry,” she said.

Dinah, however, cautioned that these unions are not always as perfect as they seem. She pointed out that, in some cases, the marriage or ministry could be affected because from the onset the marriage was based on gains.

“In some cases, when a female gospel musician marries a pastor, her music career ends and sometimes, it’s the pastor’s ministry that suffers instead,” she noted.

She went on to advise both pastors and gospel musicians to avoid marrying for personal gains. Instead, she encouraged them to marry out of genuine love and divine guidance.

“If you marry a pastor just to promote your ministry, it’s not a true calling. And if a pastor marries a gospel musician just to grow his church, that’s equally wrong,” she added.
