Social media users have been reacting after news that the renowned American rapper, Ja Rule, has commissioned a six-unit classroom block in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
Ja Rule, real name Jeffery Atkins, first announced his plans in January 2024 on his X handle.
In April 2024, Ja Rule arrived in Ghana and cut the sod for the construction of a classroom block at Nuaso Anglican Primary School in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
A year later, the rapper is back in the country to commission the building.
Videos circulating on social media on April 1, 2025, showed the rapper surrounded by some Anglican priests and community heads as he cut the tape for the official opening of the fully furnished classrooms.
However, Ghanaians on social media did not seem to be impressed with the finished building.
Some users claimed that the classroom blocks were of poor quality, contrasting the building with a school also built in Ghana by Ghanaian-American comedian Michael Blackson.
In their comments, some people believed that Ja Rule had been cheated.
A few of the comments read; “Dem scam your man. They built a family house and put desks for inside as a classroom. Fly from America to this, cmon son. It’s a rip off. Ja Rule, don’t buy this b.s or ask Micheal Blackson how you get shid done out here.”
“Whoever supervised this needs to be jailed for life.”
“Aswear with the background of the school the people who built this school has chop Ja Rule’s money.I don’t see anything modern from the from view meanwhile they have charge him more than $50,000 for this project.”

Most of our celebrities in Ghana don’t have any projects done in their name in their own country. Is sad that every time is the foreigners who do projects for us. Is hard time we encourage them to be doing projects for their communities is not only about bragging.
