Tulenkey has stated that he limits his time on social media

Ghanaian rapper Tulenkey has stated that he limits his time on social media because it disrupts his focus and peace of mind.

In an interview on Hitz FM, the “Proud Fvck Boys” hitmaker said social media platforms can be overwhelming, especially when notifications keep pulling attention away from important tasks.

“Imagine being at work and a notification pops up, maybe from someone trying to distract you. Most people have all their alerts on, and that’s a big part of the problem. WhatsApp should be like email; you open it when you’re ready, not because your phone buzzed,” he said.

Tulenkey explained that once a person checks their phone, it can take about seven minutes to fully regain focus. This interruption, he noted, reduces concentration and leads to time being wasted.

To manage this, he mentioned that he has turned off all app notifications on his phone and relies heavily on the “Do Not Disturb” feature, especially in the mornings.

“When I wake up, my phone stays on ‘Do Not Disturb’ until noon because that’s when I get most of my work done,” he shared.

The rapper also described how social media can feel chaotic, likening it to stepping into a noisy market when one has just come from a quiet place.

“There’s always something going on. It’s too much. If you’ve been calm and focused, and then you open social media, it hits you like entering a marketplace. We’re used to that constant rush, even when we’re in the washroom, we’re scrolling. Our minds never get a break,” he added.
