Former Croatia and West Ham United manager Slaven Bilić has emerged as a leading contender for the vacant Black Stars coaching role following the dismissal of Otto Addo weeks ago.
The 57-year-old is reported to have held discussions with officials of the Ghana Football Association, who are said to be impressed with his profile and experience as they seek a suitable candidate to lead the team to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Bilić, brings a wealth of experience at both club and international level, having previously managed the Croatia national team. His most recent role was with Saudi Pro League side Al-Fateh SC, where he spent a year.
Despite his strong candidacy, he is not the only name under consideration, with Mali national team coach Tom Saintfiet also being monitored by the GFA.
Reports indicate that the football governing body is considering offering a short-term contract of about four months, as they remain cautious about committing to a long-term appointment at this stage.
With the World Cup fast approaching, the GFA is expected to make a final decision soon as they look to steady the team ahead of the tournament.
