Medikal is a Ghanaian rapper

Rapper, Medikal, has stated that Ghanaians have not just been dancing to his song, he believes it’s the beat keeping Ghana’s music scene alive.

The rapper stated that his latest hit, “Shoulder,” featuring Shatta Wale and Beeztrap KOTM, is the track that has revived the industry in 2025.

In a post on his X page on August 10, 2025, Medikal wrote, “Shoulder saved the Ghanaian music scene this year.”

He went on to say that his ability to release hit songs while still delivering hard-hitting rap for the streets is a rare skill that shouldn’t be underestimated.

“Mastering the art of dropping hits, staying consistent and dropping bars for the streets simultaneously is a whole different quest. Y’all don’t deserve me tbh,” he wrote in another post.

However, Medikal’s comments have garnered conversations online.

Scores of fans disagreed with his statement, saying ‘Shoulder’ has been a popular song but cannot be credited with “saving” the Ghanaian music scene in 2025.

“Well, Shoulder has played its part but claiming it has saved Ghanaian music this year is a stretch,” one user commented.

Others pointed to streaming charts to back their argument, noting that most of the top spots this year have been dominated by Black Sherif’s songs from his “Iron Boy” project.

Some also questioned if Medikal was overlooking other major hits, including Moliy’s ‘Shake It to the Max,” which has been making waves globally.

“Is Shake it to the Max a joke to you????” another user wrote.
