Following Shatta Wale’s detention by EOCO over his 2019 Lamborghini Urus, which is suspected to be linked to proceeds of fraud, media personality Blakk Rasta has claimed that the Dancehall artiste will not be the only one to face such scrutiny.

In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Blakk Rasta said the development involving Shatta Wale marks the beginning of an investigation that could implicate more names from the Ghanaian music industry.

According to him, some artistes are involved in criminal activities ranging from car theft to the purchase of stolen vehicles and other illicit items.

He added that certain individuals in the industry should not even be referred to as musicians, as their actions suggest they are more aligned with crime than with artistry.

Key takeaways from EOCO’s statement on Shatta Wale’s Lamborghini case

“This is not the end of artistes involved in criminal activities including car theft, buying stolen cars and buying objects. There are more artistes from Ghana that are going to come up in this. Shatta is not the only artiste. I feel like mentioning names but I would not. There are some other people in the pipeline and when you look at their modus operandi, they are not supposed to be called artistes,” Blakk Rasta stated.

Meanwhile, Shatta Wale has been released from EOCO’s custody after spending nearly 24 hours in detention. The musician was granted bail following a review of his conditions.

His management confirmed that the initial bail set at GH¢10 million with two sureties was reduced to GH¢5 million with two sureties, allowing him to return home.

“The good news is that he has been granted bail and has been released to go home. The bail condition was reviewed from GH¢10 million to GH¢5 million with two sureties and that is what we are all happy about,” Shatta Wale’s media manager, Sammy Flex, told the media after his release on August 21, 2025.
