Ghanaian dancehall musician Shatta Wale has caused a stir on social media after unexpectedly sending multiple Lion gifts to evangelist Agradaa during her TikTok Live session.
Agradaa was in the middle of preaching about humility when Shatta Wale reportedly entered her livestream and began sending Lion gifts, one of TikTok’s premium virtual gifts.
A Lion gift is among the more expensive virtual gifts available on TikTok, with its value often reported to be around $300 to $400, although the actual cost can vary depending on TikTok’s coin pricing and the user’s location.
Agradaa initially appeared surprised by what was happening and repeatedly questioned whether Shatta Wale was truly behind the gifts.
She reportedly became convinced after her husband contacted her and confirmed that the gifts were indeed being sent by the dancehall star.
But Shatta Wale was not finished.
Following the confirmation, the musician reportedly sent five more Lion gifts in quick succession. Based on an estimated value of about $400 per Lion, the five gifts could represent roughly $2,000 in gross value.
If a 50 percent platform share were applied, that would leave approximately $1,000 for the creator, although the actual amount a TikTok creator receives can vary depending on the platform’s conversion rates, deductions and other factors.
The unexpected gifting session briefly interrupted Agradaa’s preaching.
She paused her sermon, broke into songs of praise and expressed her appreciation to Shatta Wale for the generous gesture.
In a moment of excitement, Agradaa referred to Shatta Wale as her “boyfriend” and asked him to send her more gifts, repeatedly saying, “Tu go me so.”
The unusual exchange has since attracted attention online, with social media users reacting to the unexpected interaction between the two personalities and the timing of the gifts during Agradaa’s sermon.
