Antoine Semenyo scored his 14th Premier League goal to propel Manchester City to an important 0-1 away win over Leeds United at Elland Road in a tough round 28 clash.
The 26-year-old once again enjoyed another full throttle having netted the only goal of the game and contributed immensely on the right flanks having combined well both defensive and offensive duties.
It was a tough game throughout, with Leeds pressing aggressively and forcing City into uncomfortable moments. The home side created long spells of pressure, especially after the break, but couldn’t make their set-piece threat count.
Semenyo struck the only goal of the night right on the stroke of half-time, finishing off with a tap-in from a Rayan Ait Nouri low cross at far post.
This goal takes him to 14 league goals, six at Man City since joining in the last winter transfer window. In all competitions, he now stands at 15 goals and 5 assists in 31 appearances, underlining his growing influence at the highest level.
With this form, Semenyo has firmly strengthened his contention for a Black Stars spot ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
