Ghana international Antoine Semenyo etched his name into football history after becoming the first Ghanaian player to score in an FA Cup final, guiding Manchester City to a 1-0 victory over Chelsea FC on Saturday.
The 25-year-old forward produced the decisive moment at Wembley Stadium, scoring in the 72nd minute to hand City their eighth FA Cup title and secure another trophy under manager Pep Guardiola.
After a tightly contested first half ended goalless, Semenyo rose to the occasion in the second half. The Black Stars attacker met a cross from Erling Haaland with a clever first-time finish that beat Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sánchez.
The historic strike crowned a memorable evening for the Ghanaian, who joined City from Bournemouth during the January transfer window. Since arriving at the Etihad Stadium, Semenyo has now won both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
Speaking after the game, Semenyo praised Guardiola for his winning mentality and influence on the squad.
The forward has enjoyed an outstanding campaign, registering 20 goals and six assists across all competitions, while also earning a nomination for the Premier League Player of the Season award.
