A year after stepping into the pharmaceutical space, Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur Selassie Ibrahim has expanded her growing business with the launch of a second Sel Pharma branch, this time in Airport West.
The new outlet was officially opened on March 18, 2026, drawing a mix of industry figures and public personalities. Among those present were Gifty Anti and gospel singer Empress Gifty, alongside other invited guests who gathered to support the milestone.
The expansion follows the debut of the first Sel Pharma branch in East Legon just a year ago, marking what appears to be a steady and deliberate move into healthcare entrepreneurship for Ibrahim. Her entry into the field, she explained, was not part of a long-term plan but something she was drawn into over time through encouragement from people close to her.
She recounted how persistent nudges from her circle gradually pushed her to consider opening a pharmacy, despite initially feeling unqualified for the space. With a brother working as a pharmacist in the UK and the support of a close friend, the idea began to take shape roughly a decade ago before finally materialising last year.

At the heart of Sel Pharma’s concept is a broader approach to pharmacy services. Beyond dispensing medication, the business is designed to offer round-the-clock service, delivery options and a retail-style experience that allows customers to walk in even when they are not seeking treatment. The setup blends healthcare with convenience, positioning the outlet as more than a traditional pharmacy.
The Airport West branch, she indicated, may appear modest on the surface, but represents a significant investment of time, effort and resources. The launch, in her view, signals only the beginning of what she hopes will become a larger journey.
She also acknowledged the role of media and online platforms in amplifying the brand’s visibility, noting that public awareness remains essential to the growth of the business.
