Benjamin Asare is Black Stars’ number one goalkeeper

Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has debuted a new haircut featuring symbols associated with Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, Asare faded the lower part of his hair and etched Wale’s slogan “SM 4LYF” along with his signature pose into the design.

The Black Stars’ number one goalkeeper was seen smiling and striking the signature pose with his hand as the camera captured the moment.

His teammates watched with amusement, some laughing and appearing entertained by the bold hairstyle.

The Accra Hearts of Oak goalie’s new look confirms his admiration for Shatta Wale, widely regarded as one of Ghana’s top musicians.

This comes just a day before the Black Stars’ game against Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 12, 2025.

The team will be aiming for a win to cap off their brilliant qualifying campaign and secure a spot at the 2026 World Cup.
