The Minister of the Interior, Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka, has announced that the recruitment of applicants into Ghana’s security services will be fully digitalized.
Briefing the press on Friday, November 14, 2025, Muntaka disclosed that an e-recruitment system has been established, allowing applicants to begin the application process using their phones.
According to him, the code to access the portal will be published on Sunday, November 16, 2025.
“Honourable Minister for Government Communication, the Ministry of Interior is working to ensure that everything we do moves from paper to paperless. From the comfort of your home, you can start and complete the application process using your mobile phone, probably for the first time. The USSD dial code will be published on Sunday, to avoid a rush,” he said.
What we know so far about deadly military recruitment stampede
The minister explained that the digitalization of the process will help applicants monitor the progress of their applications seamlessly, without unnecessary stress.
“The system we are developing is a robust, centralized e-recruitment portal designed to harmonize and standardize recruitment across all agencies under the Ministry of Interior. This process will enable every applicant to monitor their application from start to finish. You will know when you are called for screening or medicals directly on your phone; there’s no need to rely on another person to inform you,” he said.
Acknowledging instances of network challenges, Muntaka said provisions have been made to address them by introducing a voucher system as an additional alternative.
“All tests and other stages can be monitored from your phone. However, we recognise that network coverage is not the same across the country. In areas where network issues exist, we’ve opened another window where applicants can obtain vouchers through any Ghana Commercial Bank branch or Ghana Post branch nationwide,” he added.
