John Wesley Amenuku Agble is the leader of Apostolic Recovery Movement
John Wesley Amenuku Agble, leader of the Apostolic Recovery Movement, Yeast, has warned that secular music is steadily opening doors for demons to enter the lives of Christians and even their churches.
In a video shared on his social media pages on September 24, 2025, he explained that once a believer begins to enjoy secular music, the spiritual energies of the artistes who created those songs begin to work in the listener’s life.

“The infiltration of demons into the believer or into the church is what happens once you indulge in listening to secular music. Demons infiltrate your life. Demons infiltrate the church. How does that happen? You see, when it comes to the individual, you enjoy it.
“And once you’re enjoying it, those energies that the people are operating with enters you. And then that begins to also rule you and run your life,” he said.
According to him, this problem extends to churches that place emphasis on excellence in music. He argued that in their quest to have the best choirs, many pastors invite “worldly people” to train their singers, and this act, in his view, exposes the church to demonic influences.

“When it comes to the church, as pastors, the pastor is under pressure that his choir must be the best. They want a very excellent choir. So, in that vein, they pursue excellence. And in pursuing excellence, I’m not against excellence. They want to sing melodious songs. They bring people from the world to come and train the choir. And by the time the person finishes training the choir, he has left demons in the choir.
“We have worldly musicians who go to train choirs. They come and do voice training, all kinds of things. Before they finish, they put plaster of demons in those voices. Anytime you sing, you are releasing demons to the church. That’s the infiltration of demons,” he noted.
John Wesley went on to question the adoption of secular music styles in gospel.
He probed why churches now promote gospel reggae, gospel Afrobeats and similar fusions, noting that these genres were not birthed in Christianity.
“We have churches who have borrowed beats. We cannot create beats. So, we have to borrow their beats, their style of singing, their rhythms, and infiltrate it into the church. So right now, they say, okay, let’s sing reggae, gospel reggae.
“Where did that thing come from? Who invented it? What was the inspiration behind the invention? That has opened the door for demons to enter. Now I hear gospel afrobeat or whatever. Now people are doing afro gospel. The founder of that afro whatever was who? Was he a Christian? And it has entered the church. And that is the doorway for demons to enter the church,” he added.
