Universal Promotions presented this afternoon the final details for what will be an exciting night at “Moment of Truth”, to be held this Saturday, November 22 at the Rubén Rodríguez Coliseum in Bayamón.
“We’re ready to present another great event in Bayamón, packed with exciting fights and two championship bouts,” said promoter Javier Bustillo. “Our champion, Stephanie Piñeiro, will make her first defense of the interim world championship, and Juan Zayas will look to capture the NABO championship in another phenomenal match. Additionally, we’ll present the highly anticipated clash between Juanma and Gallo. It will be a night full of great fights and entertainment for everyone.”
In the main attraction of the night, former two-time World Champion Juan Manuel “Juanma” López and “influencer” Jonathann “Gallo the Producer” Rosario will put an end to a long feud in a 4-round bout at 153 pounds.
“I’m ready to return to the ring this Saturday in Bayamón,” López said. “I’ve taken this fight very seriously. Gallo doesn’t know the trouble he’s gotten himself into. There’ll be chicken fricassee at the Rubén Rodríguez Arena on Saturday.”
In the main event of the evening, the WBA interim World Champion in the welterweight division (147 pounds), Stephanie “La Medicina” Piñeiro (9-0, 3KOs), will defend her crown against former double World Champion from Argentina, Anahí “La Indiecita” Sánchez (26-6, 13KOs).
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to fight at home again and defend my championship,” Piñeiro said. “We know my opponent’s record very well, as she has faced great champions. Now she’ll face the Puerto Rican, the one from Bayamón. We’re going to deliver some serious punishment on Saturday.”
In a fight that promises excitement from bell to bell, Bayamón’s favorite, Juan “Juancito” Zayas (13-0-1, 10KOs), will face Ephraim “The Effect” Bui (10-1, 8KOs), in a fight scheduled for 10 rounds for the WBO NABO bantamweight (118 pounds) Championship.
“This fight is very important, since I’m fighting for a championship again in Bayamón,” Zayas said. “I know he’s coming in with a lot of desire, but the significance of this fight for me definitely outweighs his desires. That title is staying in Bayamón. I’m going to win decisively.”
WBA Continental Gold Champion in the super featherweight (130 lbs), Jaycob “Baki” Gomez (13-0-1, 7KOs), will clash in an eight-round bout against former Ecuadorian Olympian Luis Porozo.
In a bout scheduled for eight rounds in the super featherweight division (130 pounds), Abisael “El Sobrino” Cotto (9-0, 8KOs) will face Félix “La Sombra” Caraballo (13-5-2, 9KOs).
In bouts scheduled for four rounds: Manuel “El Feroz” Febus (1-0, 1KO) will face Alex Pallette, Diego Nieves (2-0, 2KOs) will clash with the debuting Edwin Collazo, Mario Rodríguez will debut against Luis Rodríguez, José Díaz (1-0, 1KO) will face Leroy Padilla, and Christopher Jorge will debut against José Torres.
“Moment of Truth” will feature a total of 10 exciting fights to delight sports fans.
