Ghanaian media personality Nana Yaa Brefo has expressed frustration amid ongoing discussions surrounding a viral video in which a landlord was seen beating his wife.

In a video shared on social media on November 20, 2025, Nana Yaa Brefo condemned the act, stating that the man should be made to face the same torture his wife, Harriet Amuzu, endured.

“For all you know, he didn’t officially get married to her, and that is why he was beating her anyhow. If I were the IGP who arrested this wicked man, I would have made him go through the same wicked act so everyone would see the kind of manhood he has. I would also beat him and smear pepper on his private part so he would understand the nonsense he did,” she said.

She further indicated that such acts are being condoned in many Ghanaian communities, adding that women have been taught to endure torture in marriages even when their lives are on the line.

“The annoying thing is that most women are made to keep quiet about issues like this. For all you know, she reported it to her parents and was asked to go back.

“There are a lot of women who have been beaten to death in marriages like this, and they can’t speak up simply because there is a claim that, as a woman, you should make sure you don’t go through a divorce even if your marriage is beyond repair,” she added.
