Arguably Ghana’s most decorated rapper, Sarkodie, missed out on South African rapper Nasty C’s top three Ghanaian rappers list.
In an interview on Joy Prime on November 24, 2025, the South African rapper noted that Sarkodie does not make his top three at the moment but suggested that the Sark Nation boss might make his top five.
“He’s not in my top three at the moment. He is definitely in the top five,” Nasty C said.
When asked if he would collaborate with Sarkodie after the ‘beef’ between them in 2022, Nasty C replied, “I don’t know, we would have to have a conversation.”

The South African rapper was then asked what had prevented them from having a conversation to settle their differences.
He explained that it might be because both he and Sarkodie are busy, and no one has organised a proper meeting.
“I think a lot of things got lost in translation and, you know, I don’t know. It’s no one’s organised that sit-down just yet, and we are both just busy with our lives,” he said.
Nasty C further stated that he is willing to smoke the peace pipe. He noted that he even referenced it in his song for Sarkodie, “No Big Deal,” where he expressed respect for Sarkodie.
He also said Sarkodie may have misunderstood the song, possibly due to someone feeding him the wrong message, as the Sark Nation boss’ response to the track was “a little spicy.”
“I said that in the song that I put out, but I guess I don’t know if he misunderstood it or if someone was in his ear and told him the wrong message, but his response to the song that I put out was a little spicy.
“So I don’t know where his head is at at the moment. I’m not really worried about it, but if he were to ask us to sit down and have a chat, yeah, for sure,” he added.
Nasty C laid his heart bare in “No Big Deal” in November 2022, where he spoke about his ‘beef’ with A-Reece and why he had never worked with Sarkodie.
In the first verse of the song, Nasty C said: “When I first met Sarkodie, he wouldn’t shake my hand, cool. I’m not too proud to say but am still a fan.”
He later disclosed in the verse that he further declined two offers to work with Sarkodie, making up poor excuses to avoid collaboration.
“Two requests over the years and I declined them both. I just make up some dumb excuse like; I’m in album mode. But looking back on that today, I was in coward mode,” the lyrics stated.
Sarkodie responded to Nasty C’s claims in a December 2022 track titled “Landlord,” stating that he never reached out to him for collaboration and had no qualms about the rapper.
“I ain’t gotta (have to) shake your hand so you can walk out. And so you know it’s not me, you fighting your own ego maybe a couple of things you gotta sort out. I never reached out homie but I know what you doing, such a smart ass touching the God is part of the plan,” Sarkodie rapped on the track.
