Sports Education and Management Promotions will stage its first boxing event of 2026 on March 6 at the Cathedral Clinic on High Street in Accra, with Olympic bronze medalist Samuel Takyi headlining the card.
Dubbed “Freedom and Justice Fight Night,” the event features a mix of professional and juvenile bouts. Takyi, Ghana’s Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medalist and unbeaten in eight professional fights, faces Togolese opponent Fatiou Sarouna in an international super lightweight contest as he prepares for bigger assignments later this year.
The chief support bout will see Ghana Super Welterweight Champion Musah Rahman Lawson defend his national title against Somabe Sylvester Simplice in an eight-round international clash.
The Ghana Boxing Interim Management Committee has sanctioned all professional contests, ensuring strict medical and safety protocols remain in place.
Additional bouts include several heavyweight and super lightweight contests, while promoter Edward Coleman says the event will also spotlight emerging juvenile fighters as Ghana’s boxing calendar gathers momentum.
