Sammy Gyamfi, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GOLDBOD), has reportedly taken legal action against outspoken media personality Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, widely known as Afia Schwarzenegger.

In a writ seen online, the National Communications Officer of the NDC is demanding GH¢10 million in damages for defamation.

Also, in the court documents which were reportedly filed on Wednesday, July 23, 2025,  Sammy Gyamfi alleges that Afia Schwarzenegger made several defamatory remarks in a video shared on her social media platforms.

She is recorded to have accused him of infidelity, engaging in inappropriate relationships, and even purchasing vehicles for female students at the University of Ghana.

The lawsuit further outlines several reliefs being sought by Gyamfi, including a restraining order to bar Afia Schwarzenegger from making further statements about him.

He is also requesting a public apology to be issued across the same platforms where the alleged defamatory remarks were made, as well as a full retraction in both print and digital media.

The court filing specifically demands: General damages for defamation of character, a perpetual injunction restraining the defendant from repeating the defamatory statements, exemplary damages totaling GH¢10 million and, aretraction and unqualified apology to be published on the front and back pages of the Daily Graphic for three consecutive editions and posted on TikTok and other platforms where the original claims were made.
