Ghanaian media personality, Sammy Flex, has broken his silence following his reassignment within Shatta Wale’s revamped management structure. Formerly serving as the dancehall star’s Artiste Manager, Sammy now steps into a new role as the Media and Public Relations Manager.

The reshuffle, announced by Shatta Wale on Facebook, comes with a slate of fresh appointments aimed at fortifying the Shatta Movement brand. As part of this restructuring, Sammy Flex addressed his transition in a video posted on Sammy Flex TV on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

“Ever since I joined the Shatta Movement team, many people who know me know my background as a journalist, PR person and all. So when I was given the managerial position I couldn’t sit down and allow that aspect to be empty. I had to combine forces like Captain Planet,” he said.

He clarified that while his official position had been that of Artiste Manager, he often juggled multiple responsibilities, particularly in the areas of media and communications.

Reflecting on the changes, Sammy noted that bringing structure to the team and managing Shatta Wale’s public image had been among his initial priorities. However, he now believes the time is right to delegate and allow more specialized roles to take shape.

“It is now time to bring in other energies so that I can even do more here,” he added.

He emphasized the scope of Shatta Wale’s brand, insisting that the job is far too demanding for one individual to handle alone.

“One thing I believe is that the Shatta Movement job is not a one-person job. Those who are closer to it understand it and they know that you can’t do it alone. These people have been there. They are not new people. They have been there playing different roles but now they have been given specific roles to play to make sure the team runs,” he further explained.

Alongside Sammy’s new role, the restructured team includes Juwaid Abdallah Sika as General Manager for Bookings and Requests, Gifty Nkrumah as Road Manager, and Daniel Kwesi Kpingbi as Shatta Wale’s Personal Assistant. Solomon Ashong (Solash) will serve as Regional Coordinator for Merchandising, while Kester Ashong Teye (Nawtyboi) and Stanley Dartey (Paq) have been tapped for the Music Production Team.
