The letter stated, “I wish to inform you that the Minister of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations has terminated your appointment as the Director of Cybersecurity of the National Communications Authority, effective immediately.”

In a recent development, the Minister of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has terminated the appointment of Mr. Kwadwo Gyamfi Osafo-Mafo as the Director of Cybersecurity at the National Communications Authority (NCA). The decision takes immediate effect, and Mr. Osafo-Mafo has been instructed to hand over his responsibilities to the Acting Director General of the NCA.

The termination was communicated through a letter signed by the Chief Director of the Ministry, Alexander Yaw Arphul. The letter further directed Mr. Osafo-Mafo to transfer his duties to the Acting Director General of the NCA. In accordance with paragraph 8 of his appointment letter, he will receive three months’ salary in lieu of notice.

The Minister also expressed his appreciation for Mr. Osafo-Mafo’s contributions during his tenure. “The Honorable Minister extends his gratitude for your service to the nation,” the letter concluded.

This decision marks a significant change in the leadership of the NCA’s cybersecurity division, though no specific reasons for the termination were provided in the announcement. The move comes as the Ministry continues to prioritize digital innovation and cybersecurity in line with national development goals.
