Ace sports presenter, Patrick Osei Agyemang, alias Countryman Songo, has urged President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to order the dismissal of Black Stars coach, Otto Addo.

According to Songo, the Black Stars risk missing out on major tournaments if the whip is not cracked on Otto Addo.

Songo, on Adom TV, criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for giving his blessings to the appointment of Otto Addo in the first place.

The controversial broadcaster stated that Ghanaians will not forgive President Akufo-Addo and the Minister of Youth and Sports if the Black Stars miss out on the 2026 World Cup.

He, therefore, wants Otto Addo gone before the team resumes the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

“The Black Stars have no future under Otto Addo. If we don’t take the team from him, it will be too late. If we don’t sack Otto Addo, we won’t qualify for the AFCON and World Cup. People’s dreams of traveling to the US will not come to pass.

“President Akufo-Addo did not do well by allowing the GFA to appoint Otto Addo. The government must act now before it’s too late for the country. The FA must also go. They want Ghana’s downfall. Otto Addo is not a good coach; we should fire him now,” he said.

Otto Addo’s future has become a subject of concern following Ghana’s poor performance in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Black Stars are yet to win any of their four matches, with two draws and two defeats so far.

Ghana lost to Angola at home and bowed to Sudan away on October 15, 2024, in Libya. The Black Stars drew with Sudan at home on October 10 and also drew with Niger.

With two points from the games, Ghana is third while Angola leads the group with ten points from four matches. Sudan is second with seven points.
