Netizens were not having it with a lady’s seemingly innocent post, voicing their dissent in the comments section of the video.

The lady had shared on Instagram a video exposing the message her 13-year-old brother had sent to a girl who he wanted to be his girlfriend.

The message, to the surprise and concern of many, was a list of rules and regulations that the unknown girl had to follow if she wanted to be the boy’s girlfriend.

The lady had found the message hilarious, laughing as she scrolled and read through the list, but most who viewed the video did not have the same reaction.

They called attention to the concerning demand he made in the message under the guise of “Rules and Regulations” and the demeaning tone in which he conveyed his request. It read,

“Rules and regulations to be my girlfriend

  1. OBEDIENCE
  2. Don’t tell anyone that we are together
  3. Behave like an adult
  4. Anything you want meet me
  5. If they are looking for your trouble report
  6. Don’t talk to me any how do embarass me in public
  7. When u see me passing don’t talk to me
  8. Stop following small children to play
  9. regular talking

Can we start dating

So pls drop ur date of birth, pls reply

Be me OLAMIDE 🥰🥺🥺💝”

Many took to the comment section to share how this behaviour was not funny in any way, but was toxic and should not be encouraged by his family, including the lady.

Users, mostly women, shared that while the message appeared innocent now, if he was not properly cautioned and this was allowed to continue, he could become a controlling and obsessive man who would hurt someone in the future.

@_nomase_ Your brother is badly raised !

@agsbraidsattachment That’s how they start … is this even funny ????

@satinworldng I don’t know if this the millennial in me but I do not find this funny. 13 years old and you the elder sister, you were busy laughing instead of genuinely acting concerned like an adult. Tor

@martmilli0n Your parents have failed if these are his demands. The fact that he even has rules and regulations is d beginning.

@doyin_romaro At this age? Who are his parents?

@i.am.r.o.m.a.n He needs counseling. Seems like he has consumed too much Internet alpha male podcasts.

@jane_kreative At the age of 13 see rules 😂 when he is a 30+ man he will add “address me as my lord”
