It’s that time of the year again – the transfer window is now open until September 1 and it’s sure to be a busy period with clubs looking to make big signings ahead of next season.

Here are today’s latest developments from Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team…

    Hull get their Nobel prize

Hull City have finally agreed their protracted negotiations for Rayo Vallecano defender Nobel Mendy.

The centre back is heading over for his medical after the clubs settled on a £21million fee plus 12.5per cent sell-on clause, while his former club Real Betis receive 20 percent as part of their sell-on.

The 21-year-old Senegal international can play at centre back and left-back.

    Fulham snap up Southampton’s Charles

Fulham have signed Shea Charles from Southampton for £27million plus £3m in add ons.

Fulham have signed Shea Charles from Southampton for £27million plus £3m in add ons

The 22-year-old has signed a five-year contract, tying him to Craven Cottage until June 2031, with a club option to extend by a further 12 months.

    Southampton also retain a 20percent sell-on.

Speaking to FFCtv, Charles, who will wear the number 19 shirt, said: ‘It’s a great club, with a really good vision – the manager explained that to me. To be here is a massive privilege.

‘I hope to really kickstart my Premier League career. At such a good club as well, it’s perfect for me, and hopefully perfect for the fans as well.

‘I’m buzzing to finally get it over the line. The club has got a really good foundation, from the bottom to the top really.’

    Lukaku agrees Turkey move

Romelu Lukaku has agreed to join Turkish side Fenerbahce in a £5million move from Napoli.

The Belgium international has agreed a two year contract worth around £8.6m a season and has already passed his medical.

The deal includes further add ons based on performances.

Chelsea are understood to have inserted a 40percent sell-on clause when they sold Lukaku for a knockdown £26m to Napoli two years ago.

He scored 14 goals in his first season but injury and the arrival of Rasmus Hojlund from Manchester United restricted him to just seven games last year.

    Liverpool starlet wanted in Portugal

Liverpool centre-back Ifeanyi Ndukwe is attracting attention from clubs in Portugal ahead of a loan move.

The 18-year-old who has joined the club from Austria Vienna in a £2.5million deal has stood out for the first team in pre-season friendlies.

But despite the promise he has shown, and Liverpool’s dearth of defensive cover, post-Brexit rules mean Austria youth international Ndukwe doesn’t have enough points to obtain a Governing Body Endorsement (GBE) to obtain a work visa.

He will start against Como in their last friendly but is unable to play a competitive match for the Anfield club.

Now clubs from Germany, Spain, Denmark and France have been calling to take the 6ft 6ins centre back on loan but there is a sense Portugal may be his preferred destination.

After playing alongside him, captain Virgil van Dijk said: ‘Big talent, big guy and he wants to learn. I had a brief conversation with him, especially in the last couple of days. For him, it is just progressing. I know he has to go on loan I think so let’s see where he ends up.’

Napoli still in the hunt for Badiashile

Napoli have offered a £2m loan fee for Chelsea’s £30million-rated centre-back Benoit Badiashile with obligation to buy.

Discussions are ongoing between the clubs and the player’s representatives to try and find a full agreement.

Chelsea have sold Trevoh Chalobah to Como and are also looking to sell Axel Disasi who has had interest from Crystal Palace and West Ham.

Mamadou Sarr, who suffered an injury at the weekend, is likely to go on loan to a Premier League side.

Keeper Filip Jorgensen has completed his move to Strasbourg on loan.

Wigan Athletic are closing in on their loan move for Chelsea midfielder Reggie Walsh while Portsmouth want 17-year-old Chelsea winger Ryan Kavuma-McQueen on loan.

Napoli remain keen on Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus also as talks continue. Arsenal want £20m for the Brazilian.

    Villa defender wanted in Belgium

Aston Villa right-back Kosta Nedeljkovic is a target for Rangers along with Hugo Siquet of Bruges.

Nedeljkovic has had interest from a number of clubs including Osasuna but Rangers are exploring a £4million deal with initial loan for the Serbia international.

The 20-year-old had a spell with RB Leipzig last season.

    Burnley after new keeper

Burnley are showing interest in OH Leuven goalkeeper Tobe Leysen.

The 24-year-old former Belgium U21 international has one year left on contract so Leuven are willing to listen to offers.
