Philip Kwabena Agyeman Appiah-Kubi, popularly known as Roman Fada, has rejected claims that the late Highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, fired him before his death.

In an interview with Kofi Adoma Nwanwani, the longtime manager of Lumba clarified that his relationship with Daddy Lumba remained intact and cordial until the very end.

“I had no issue with Daddy Lumba before he passed on. He loved me as his son, and I loved and respected him deeply,” Roman Fada said. “It’s laughable when I see these stories online claiming I was sacked. None of them are true. Both Lumba and I knew the bond we shared; we had no problems.”

He recounted how Lumba continued to trust him with professional and personal matters, even in his final months. “When President Mahama organized a program for senior citizens, the invitation came through me, and I gave it to Papa. He even asked me what to wear for the occasion, and I told him a suit would do,” Roman Fada revealed. “He later asked me to complete a contractual deal that actor Wayoosi had brought before he died. How could a man who had sacked me ask me to handle his business?”

Roman Fada described the claims of dismissal as attempts to tarnish his reputation and distort the truth about his long-standing role in the musician’s life and career. “I came to serve, and I’m still serving Lumba even after his death,” he said.

His comments come in the wake of a public statement released by Daddy Lumba’s wife, Mrs. Akosua Serwah Fosuh, and his sister, Ms. Ernestina Brempomaa Fosuh, on November 6, 2025. In that statement, the family alleged that Roman Fada was spreading misinformation about the funeral arrangements and falsely portraying himself as an authorized representative of the late musician.

The family emphasized that Roman Fada was no longer part of Daddy Lumba’s management team prior to his death and had no legal or traditional authority to speak for the Fosuh family. They warned that any continued misrepresentation would attract legal consequences.

But Roman Fada insists those claims are unfounded, stressing that he and Daddy Lumba maintained mutual trust and affection until the end. “Lumba and I never had any fallout. The love and respect we had for each other were genuine,” he maintained.

The dispute comes amid growing tension over the arrangements for Daddy Lumba’s funeral, which the family has tentatively set for December 6, 2025. The date, however, remains in contention as the matter proceeds in court.

Roman Fada further stated that he wants to set the record straight and preserve the true legacy of the man he calls his mentor. “People can say whatever they want,” he said quietly. “But Papa knew my heart. I never betrayed him, and he never turned his back on me.”
