Tennis legend Roger Federer will be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame (ITHF) in a ceremony scheduled for August 2026 in Newport, Rhode Island, the Hall announced on Wednesday.

Federer, who retired in 2022, is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. He won 20 Grand Slam titles, becoming the first male player to reach the milestone, and secured 103 career titles. The Swiss maestro also held the world number one ranking for 237 consecutive weeks between 2004 and 2008 and spent a total of 310 weeks at the top of the ATP rankings.

In a statement, Federer expressed his gratitude:
“It’s a tremendous honor to be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame and to stand alongside so many of the game’s great champions. To be recognized in this way by the sport and by my peers is deeply humbling.”

The 44-year-old highlighted his appreciation for tennis history and his rivals, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, who alongside him formed the legendary “Big Three” of men’s tennis.

“Throughout my career, I’ve always valued the history of tennis and the example set by those who came before me. I look forward to visiting Newport next August to celebrate this special moment with the tennis community,” Federer added.
