Roengrit Charisaen (5-3-1, 4Kos) ) impressively captured the vacant Thai Super Bantamweight title when he stopped former UBO world 122lb title challenger Chonlathee Srirat (12-7-1, 8KOs) on Sunday, August 16, at Singmanassak Boxing in Pathum Thani, Thailand.
Despite being less experienced, Roengrit unexpectedly put up a good fight against his more experienced opponent. Chonlathee went on the offensive in the first two round, but Roengrit landed effective counter-attacks, using his powerful left jab to disrupt his opponent’s attacks. From the third round, Reongrit began to aggressively pursue his opponent and weakened Chonlathee with accurate right punches. The competition ended in the fourth round when Roengrit landed powerful punches to the face and body and displayed one-side attack which forced the referee to stop the fight at 2:15.
In other co-main event, WBC Asia no.7 Somsak Noolae (10-7-1, 8KOs) dropped Phanurut Pangsriraksa twice before referee Bunsom Deejang had to save his opponent at 2:00 of the second round. Somsak successfully capture the vacant Thai Featherweight title.
Panumad Bubpamalo (10-10, 7KOs) dropped Tassawan Hoiraya twice, scoring a TKO at 1:10 of round 3, to capture the vacant Thai female 108lb title.
