Roc Nation Sports International (RNSI) has officially announced the launch of its first-ever youth football tournament on the African continent, the Roc Cup.

The landmark event will take place at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Accra from February 23-28, 2026, marking a major milestone following RNSI’s recent expansion into the African football market.

The Roc Cup will bring together 10 elite youth teams from five African nations Ghana, Cameroon, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire and Guinea competing in a round-robin format designed to showcase the continent’s emerging football talent.

The tournament forms a core part of RNSI’s long-term strategy to establish an authentic presence in African football, deliver meaningful community impact and create credible development pathways for young players.

Speaking on the initiative, Grant Veitch, Director of African Football Recruitment at Roc Nation Sports International, said the Roc Cup represents a strong statement of intent.

“The Roc Cup is more than just a tournament; it is a visible declaration of our commitment to African football.

“After signing several incredible teenage talents last year, we are solidifying our investment by hosting this special event. We aim to inspire local communities and to hopefully provide a genuine European pathway for the continent’s brightest emerging stars.”

    Participating Teams

    Benab FC – Ghana

    Tripple 44 FC – Nigeria

    Sporting Lagos – Nigeria

    Zilina Africa – Ghana

    Empire FC – Côte d’Ivoire

    Fadama Field Masters – Ghana

    Semper Fi – Ghana

    Racing Club d’Abidjan – Côte d’Ivoire

    SOAR Academy – Guinea

    Kadji Sports Academy – Cameroon

To ensure accessibility for all football fans, entry to all matches will be completely free, with the 10,000-capacity University of Ghana Sports Stadium open to families, students and young footballers across Accra.

By bringing together elite African academies in the capital, RNSI aims to create a vibrant football atmosphere that inspires youth participation while celebrating local culture.

Beyond the pitch, the tournament is expected to support the surrounding community through the involvement of local volunteers and increased activity for small vendors and businesses.

The Roc Cup will also serve as a vital European talent pathway, offering players the opportunity to perform in a highly competitive environment before international and African scouts scheduled to attend the event.

Looking ahead, Roc Nation Sports International envisions the Roc Cup evolving into a sustainable annual tournament, firmly established as a key fixture on the African youth football calendar.
