The RNAQ Foundation has officially launched its Food Bank initiative as part of its foundational programs. This initiative aims to address hunger, restore dignity, and empower communities on a holistic level, and is a fully Ghanaian-funded initiative.

At the launch event which took place at La Palm Beach Hotel, the CEO of the RNAQ Foundation, Richard Nii Armah Quaye, passionately stated, “this initiative is not backed by government or foreign donors — it’s a Ghanaian dream.” His statements resonated with a lot of people who do not view the initiative solely as a relief effort but as a true testament to Ghanaian’s ability to sustainably change its circumstances.

RNAQ Food Bank is located at Korle Gonno, Kasoa, and Ashaiman in Accra. Their next branch will be in the Ashanti Region, then further extend to every corner of the country. The food bank has branch locations for a reason – they want to help people with easy access to food, and hot meals for those in need. There is no need to register, and the only requirement is a Ghana Card.

At the launch, Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, Hon. John Dumelo, praised the initiative and told the Foundation to align with the government’s Feed Ghana Project. Hon. Dumelo also said that these collaborations would help stabilize food systems in Ghana.

The RNAQ Food Bank is more than just a charity; it is a well-organized response to a complex social problem. Osman Ayariga, the CEO of the National Youth Authority, captured the essence perfectly, referring to it as “dignity, relief, and hope in action.” He emphasized the food bank’s capacity to strategically resolve hunger in a sustainable manner while improving the lives of everyday Ghanaians.

The initiative is backed by well-defined frameworks geared towards ensuring food security and safety. The Foundation has worked to make sure the meals prepared are not only reachable, but are also safe and nutritious and treated with dignity during delivery.

As the RNAQ Food Bank expands its reach, it represents more than just the distribution of food among the people; it is the courageous proclamation that Ghanaians are capable to meet their own problems with innovation, compassion, and togethernhess.
