Legendary Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand has stated that Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is a better midfielder than Ghanaian Thomas Partey.

He indicated that, based on both players’ performances this season and previously, he would choose the French midfielder over the Black Stars player.

The former England defender didn’t provide detailed reasons for his decision but made his choice based on his knowledge of both players.

During a Q&A session, when Ferdinand was asked to choose between Camavinga and Partey, he quickly responded, “Camavinga.”

His pick didn’t sit well with some football fans, who believe Partey’s current form for Arsenal puts him ahead of Camavinga, who often doesn’t start games for Real Madrid.

The Ghanaian midfielder has been key for Arsenal in the 2024/2025 season, particularly in the UEFA Champions League, where he masterminded the midfield to help them win 5-1 on aggregate against Real Madrid and advance to the semifinals.

He’s also been instrumental for the Black Stars in their two wins against Madagascar and Chad in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, where he scored and assisted a goal.
