American rapper, William Leonard Roberts II, popularly known as Rick Ross, has named a few artistes across Africa as his favourites that people should look out for.

The rapper, who is currently in South Africa, took to his Instagram page on January 15, 2025, to share a list of musicians and Disc Jockeys (DJs) that he describes as global icons.

In the video, Rick Ross mentioned Ghanaian dancehall musician, Stonebwoy; Nigerian singer, Davido; South African rapper, Nasty C; and other African singers.

“Before I go any further, while I am in Cape Town, South Africa, I want to salute some of my personal favourites. And these are global icons. They are Davido, Nasty C, Stonebwoy, Chop Sticks, Blaqbonez, and Psycho YP,” he said.

He also encouraged American musicians to collaborate with African artistes to foster unity.

“These are my list of icons, let’s continue to build that bridge from the U.S.A. to Africa. Because they are legends,” he added.

Rick Ross also hinted at his upcoming album.

He noted that he will be featuring some African artistes on the album.
