Exactly how Travis Kelce spent the hours immediately after his Super Bowl humiliation remain a mystery – but one surprising detail has now emerged.
The Kansas City Chiefs star, 35, facetimed The Chainsmokers following the game after the pop act had played at the NFL team’s Super Bowl afterparty.
The group shared video of Kelce on the phone to them on their TikTok, with Kelce being told by them: ‘We just played your f***ing party.’
Kelce then panned the camera around to show some friends alongside him – one appeared to be the Australian DJ Dom Dolla – but there was no sign of girlfriend Taylor Swift, who herself had endured a difficult night.
She had been roundly booed by fans in Caesars Superdome when she appeared on the jumbotron earlier in the game. Swift was then trolled by Donald Trump, who wrote on Truth Social: ‘The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!’
Kelce is good friends with the band and has partied with them plenty of times before. They had a night out last May at an event around the Kentucky Derby.

The Chiefs star might well have had a hand in getting them to play at the Super Bowl afterparty in New Orleans.
They were on the decks in Las Vegas last year after the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers to win a second straight Super Bowl in 2024.
But sadly for Kelce and his team, it was not a case of history repeating itself 12 months on.
The popstars said they tried their best to give Chiefs fans a good time after such an emphatic loss at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles left their hopes of an historic ‘three-peat’ in ruins.
Kelce now has to take some time to decide if he is going to continue playing in the NFL.
He said at the beginning of Super Bowl week that he could envision himself playing for the Chiefs for another three years but reports then emerged on the eve of the game that he was actually considering retiring.
It was claimed that the outcome of the game would have a significant impact on his decision.
And while he won’t want to end his glittering career with a loss, the manner of his own performance means Kelce needs to consider if he can recapture his best form again if he returns for another year.

Kelce recorded four receptions for 39 yards, while footage has since gone viral of him missing a block before Patrick Mahomes got sacked by Josh Sweat.
It is highly likely Kelce will announce his decision before March 12, the beginning of the NFL’s free agency.
The Chiefs will need to know if they are counting Kelce on their roster as they reload and try to go one step further next season.
