Rev. Daniel Annan has advised individuals to consider qualities such as the fear of God, trust and understanding when choosing a spouse.

Speaking on the Let’s Talk show on Joy Prime, Rev. Annan discussed the topic, “Can Love Fade or Diminish in a Marriage?” and advised individuals to be open-minded and apply wisdom before entering relationships.

He encouraged people to look for the fear of God in their partners, emphasising the importance of the God factor when choosing a spouse.

“Does the person have the fear of God in him? The God factor is very important. I’m not talking about going to church, because there are pretentious people in churches. Because if the person really fears God, it would be difficult to hurt you,” he said.

Rev. Annan also identified trust as another key quality to look for in a spouse. He advised individuals to do their due diligence and learn about the person before committing to a relationship.

According to him, faithfulness, reliability and transparency are important qualities that help build trust in a relationship.

He further highlighted understanding as another important consideration, advising people to find out whether the person understands them and is not judgmental about everything concerning them.

“Does he understand me? Because if you want to live with somebody and he’s always judgmental about you, your family and everything about you, but he says he loves you, how can that be true? Even people say, ‘If you love me, love my dog.’ So how can you say you love me but do not understand me?” he added.

Rev. Annan said these qualities are important considerations for individuals before choosing a life partner.
