Mexican Alma “La Leona” Almaraz claimed the World Boxing Association ( Venezuelan Panamanian Organization) interim minimumweight championship after defeating her experienced compatriot Jaky Calvo by split decision (97-93, 93-97, and 93-97) in the main event of this Saturday’s card at the Sala Urbana entertainment center in Naucalpan, State of Mexico, organized by Miura Boxing with the support of Libertad Financiera and Mega.

From the first bell, both fighters came out swinging and exchanging fire. As the rounds progressed, the Cachanilla fighter began to gain confidence and dominate the action, landing blows to the body and face of her opponent, something that lifted the spirits of the fans and spurred their favorite on.

Motivated and eager to take home the title, the border fighter pushed hard in the final rounds, impressing the judges and securing a points victory.

After recovering from a nagging injury, Mexico City boxer Chester Parada returned to the ring to defeat Guadalupe “Lupe” Acosta by technical knockout at 1:31 of the fourth round in a fight scheduled for eight rounds at a catch weight of 68,000 kilograms.

In what was the semi-main event of the card broadcast on TVC Deportes in Mexico and on DAZN worldwide, the revamped Chester Parada took a punishing to the body of his opponent, who constantly sought to evade punishment by taking refuge on the ropes. It was precisely in the fourth round that he landed a solid overhead punch to the face, forcing him to the canvas. Hurt, he returned to his feet only for referee César Castañón to declare him out of action for that round.

Guatemala native Ángel “Gallito” García prevailed, defeating Jorge “El Zurdo” López, from the State of Mexico municipality of Santiago Tianguistenco, by technical knockout at 2:18 of the fourth round in a six-round featherweight bout.

Jeremy “Zurdito” Gaspar of the State of Mexico delivered a technical knockout at 2:39 seconds of the fourth round against Einar “Cuervo Blanco” Martínez of Coacalco, a native of the municipality of Coacalco, in six rounds in a featherweight bout.

In a women’s duel, Sharon “Zurdita” López of the capital city won by unanimous decision (39-37, 39-37, and 39-37) over Iamdra “Libélula” Priede, in a fourth round in a flyweight bout.

In a power-on-power bout, Oswaldo González defeated Maximiliano Rodríguez by unanimous decision (59-57, 59-57, and 58-56) in a six-round super welterweight bout.

David “Pulga” Del Río of the State of Mexico scored a majority decision victory (60-54, 57-57, and 58-56) over Hugo “El Guerrero” Gutierrez in a six-round super lightweight bout.

In an international duel, Mexico City native Martín “Gallito de Oro” Villa defeated Colombian Martín Higuita by unanimous decision (56-58, 55-59, and 55-59), in eight rounds at a catchweight of 71.500 kilograms.

At the start of the fight, Brandon “Zuly” Ledezma won by split decision (40-36, 37-39, and 39-37) over Luis “Conejo” Monroy, in four rounds at a catchweight of 67.500 kilograms.
