The strong, undefeated 21-year-old Argentine prospect Karim Crucce (10-0, 10 KOs) defeated his experienced compatriot Ariel Bracamonte (15-14, 8 KOs) by first-round technical knockout, successfully defending his Argentine heavyweight title for the first time. The bout took place at the Argentine Boxing Federation stadium in Buenos Aires.
Crucce has surpassed the long-standing record held by legendary Oscar “Ringo” Bonavena, who had been the youngest fighter to win the Argentine heavyweight championship since claiming the title in 1965. Crucce has now become the youngest fighter ever to hold the title.
Bracamonte, who was significantly heavier and stronger, came out aggressively, charging at Crucce. However, Crucce used his movement and speed to land precise punches and finish the fight.
Crucce landed a powerful blow on Bracamonte, prompting the latter’s corner to enter the ring and request medical assistance for their fighter.
In a high-action bout featuring constant exchanges, 26-year-old Uruguayan Yennifer Núñez (3-1, 0 KOs) earned a narrow majority decision victory over 21-year-old Argentine Josefina Gatica (1-1, 1 KO) after four rounds.
At times, Núñez got the better of Gatica by switching stances while also working to control the distance. The Uruguayan gained a slight edge, largely due to her punch volume in the fourth round, earning the decision with scores of 40-36, 38-37, and 38-38.
Undefeated local prospect Joaquín Tisera (8-0, 3 KOs) earned a unanimous decision victory over Elías Duguet (7-5-1, 2 KOs), relying on superior technique and effective counterpunching. Duguet attempted to close the distance with persistent attacks from mid-range and up close, managing to even the contest at times. Ultimately, all three judges scored the bout 58-56 for Tisera.
