The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has counselled Ghana’s iconic rapper, Sarkodie to remain humble at all times in his quest to sustain his brand and legacy as rap legend.

According to the King, though Sarkodie has a natural gift as a rapper who has risen to stardom from a humble beginning, humility is key to his continuous success and the sustenance of his brand a rap legend.

Otumfuo gave the advice when the rapper and his management team paid a curtesy call on him at the Manhyia Palace to seek his blessings ahead of the return of the Rapperholic Concert to Kumasi.

Otumfuo said, “I support whatever he is doing with prayers. When he came here, I told him that humility is essential and that he should not forget about himself and I know that this is exactly what he is doing.”

“He should not forget that God gave him that talent and continue like that just as he is doing”. He added.

Otumfuo further cautioned the management team of the rapper and all the members of his entourage to be mindful of their utterances so that their actions and inactions would not adversely affect his brand.

Sarkodie introduced his famous Rapperholic Concert about twelve years ago and has consistently worked hard to sustain through stellar performances as part of his brand and legacy.

The annual event always draws a large gathering of audience regardless of the venue and has become a household event that many Ghanaian music lovers could not resist on the 25th of December every year.

Despite the mad rush for the show in the Ashanti Region when Sarkodie and his team stormed there about four years ago, the Rapperholic Concert has always remained in the capital city.

The “second coming” of the Rapperholic Concert to the Ashanti Region which is scheduled for September 2, 2025, will be held at the famous Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
