Spanish giants, Real Madrid have ended their pursuit of French international, Ibrahim Konate, the Athletic Football has reported.

According to the report from Athletic Football, the record holders of the UEFA Champions League have informed Liverpool about their decision to pull out of the deal.

Real Madrid according to multiple reports had prioritized Konate as they have been monitoring his progress from RB Leipzig to Liverpool.

The 25-year-old defender was part of their transfer targets in 2026 but now they have shifted their attention elsewhere.

For Liverpool, the development means any potential negotiations surrounding Konaté are now off the table, leaving the Reds to continue building with the 25-year-old as part of their long-term project.
