After tying the knot for almost 22 years, the marriage certificate of the late Daddy Lumba with his first wife, Akosua Serwaa Fosuh, has surfaced online following the placement of an interlocutory injunction on her late husband’s funeral ceremony.

GhanaWeb on October 9, 2025, reported that Akosua Serwaa filed a suit against the family head, Kofi Owusu (1st defendant), and Daddy Lumba’s second wife, Odo Broni (2nd defendant), citing exclusion from the burial preparations, among other grievances.

In the 21-page document dated October 3, 2025, Akosua Serwaa claimed to be the only legally wedded wife of the late musician; hence, she is praying for the court to declare her as such, among three other claims.

In the writ of summons, she attached her official marriage certificate with the late musician.

The marriage certificate, which is written in both German and English, details that the two got married on December 23, 2002, under German law, a matrimony that is strictly monogamous.

The certified translation from German to English, dated August 12, 2025, details when the two got married, their places of birth, and the surnames of the couple before and after marriage, among other information.

The document noted that the two got married at Bornheim, Germany, on December 23, 2004.

Also, Serwaa Fosuh, before her marriage to the late musician, bore the surname Schindler, a German name, and adopted the Fosuh after they got married.

It also stated in the document that the said marriage had subsisted until the deceased died on July 26, 2025.
