Social media went into a frenzy after videos and pictures showed a real-life ‘Superman’ arriving at the Manhyia Palace in the Ashanti Region.

Visitors could be seen watching in awe as a tall Caucasian man, dressed in the iconic Superman costume, complete with a red cape, waltzed into the palace area, accompanied by some Ghanaians as they made their way around.

According to social-media posts, the moment occurred as part of the festival celebrations at Manhyia Palace, the seat of the Asantehene.

The palace routinely hosts the Akwasidae festival, a ceremony held once every six weeks to honour ancestors and symbolise the strength of the Asante Kingdom.

Social media was quick to react, as some users hilariously asked if the cosplayer ‘flew’ to the palace.

The Superman cosplayer was quickly identified as Tall Clark, a 6.8-inch-tall Brazilian man whose real name is Leonardo Muylaert.

Muylaert, a Brazilian civil-rights lawyer turned internet star, rose to fame thanks to his uncanny resemblance to Superman. He now travels globally doing cosplay, charity work, and appearances at events and hospitals.
