Social media has been buzzing with reactions to a video of Ghanaian rapper King Paluta performing his hit song “Makoma” on stage at a New Patriotic Party rally.

In the viral video shared on social media, King Paluta could be seen on stage entertaining the ecstatic crowd of supporters while Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and other NPP executives looked on.

A moment which raised eyebrows was when King Paluta brought the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as “Chairman Wontumi,” on stage to dance with him.

This comes as the political parties intensify their campaigns ahead of the December 7, 2024 elections in Ghana.

The video, however, was met with mixed reactions on social media, with many netizens congratulating King Paluta for his business mindset while others expressed displeasure over his aligning with the NPP.

“A win-win situation. Bawumia wins, King Paluta also wins,” one user posted.

“Hmmm.. well well. Too much dancing, cackling and joy when Ghanaians can barely afford food. ‘Joy’ is a very wrong slogan in a very dire economic situation most Ghanaians find themselves. Same campaign style that got Kamala punished heavy. This government is not far from defeat,” another user commented.

“One thing this NPP fellas don’t get is electorates hate this. It clearly tells them you’re okay whiles they’re suffering. Mahama 2016 had same vibes, Kamala 2024 same. They just don’t care or are naive,” said another.
