Social media has been in turmoil after popular socialite and media personality Efia Odo confidently predicted that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), will win the upcoming December 7 general elections.

In a tweet on X (formerly Twitter) on December 2, 2024, she declared, “The next President of Ghana is Bawumia. Bookmark this tweet, give praises to God after the election. It is the doing of the Lord.”

Her prediction, however, has ignited heated debates online. Many accused Efia Odo, who has previously been critical of the government, of being bribed to endorse the NPP candidate.

However, Efia Odo dismissed these allegations, clarifying that her statement was not an endorsement but a divinely inspired revelation.

“I didn’t say I’m voting for Bawumia; I said he’s winning the election. Even if I tweeted Mahama or Cheddar is winning, you would’ve said I’ve taken a bribe,” she responded.

Efia Odo’s comments come just as many social media influencers have declared support for one political party or another.

Recently, popular X user Kalyjay faced backlash after he appeared on stage at a National Democratic Congress (NDC) rally on the University of Ghana campus.
