As part of efforts to enhance community well-being, the Rastafari Council, Ghana (RCG) is organizing a free health screening exercise on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the Musicians Union of Ghana office in Accra.
The initiative, starting at 10:00 am, precedes the 10th National Rastafari Conference, scheduled for Saturday, March 1, 2025.
Highlighting the significance of the event, RCG’s National Organizer, Richard Kwaku Hussey, also known as Ras Mawuli, emphasized the council’s dedication to addressing healthcare challenges.
“The RCG recognizes the importance of health and well-being within the community. Our goal with this health screening is to help address fundamental challenges regarding access to quality healthcare services in Ghana,” he stated.
The screening will include tests for common diseases, offering attendees the opportunity for medical consultations and guidance on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Educational sessions will also provide insights into disease prevention and chronic condition management.
Open to the public, the event seeks to promote overall wellness and heighten awareness of crucial health issues affecting the community.
The upcoming National Rastafari Conference will feature Prof. Imhotep Alagidede of the University of Ghana Business School as the keynote speaker. The gathering is expected to unite members of the Rastafari movement and other stakeholders to discuss key issues affecting their community and African heritage.
As the principal body representing Rastafari in Ghana, the RCG remains dedicated to championing the movement’s ideals, including African reconstruction and cultural preservation. Through various initiatives, the council continues to support the well-being of its members and the broader community.
