Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has opened up on his fears during the heavy downpour that nearly disrupted his Rapperholic concert in Kumasi.

In an interview on YFM Kumasi, shared via X on September 30, 2025, the rapper revealed that the rain, which began just minutes into the show, left him feeling anxious and deeply concerned for his fans.

He explained that, despite the large amount spent on organising the event, all he could think about during the heavy downpour was his fans who had paid to witness his historic concert.

Was Sarkodie’s ‘Rapperholic Homecoming’ the biggest concert Kumasi has ever seen?

“I am not going to lie, I was nervous, very scared, especially for the fans. I put myself in the shoes of the people who paid to watch me. I came there for a sound check before it started raining.

“During the day, it started raining in the morning, afternoon, and I said to myself that it should rain so it would leave the show for us in the evening,” he said.

Sarkodie further revealed how he had to resort to prayers during the heavy rainfall.

“The rain was so heavy that you could feel it on the roof. And I was when I was like God, you got us through all these, the back and forth. The promo, PR, and the fans are excited and have paid money to come.

“I didn’t care about the stage, show, or whatever; I was asking if the people were okay. It caused a bit of chaos. I have to be honest, I was very nervous,” he added.
