New Carlos Queiroz is close to reuniting with long-time assistant Roger De Sa as Ghana reshapes its technical bench ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Reports from South Africa indicate that De Sa is in advanced talks with the Ghana Football Association to take up the assistant coach role, extending a partnership that has spanned several national teams across different continents.
The duo previously worked together with Iran at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and with Qatar’s national team. They also combined forces with Egypt, guiding the North African side to the final of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, where they finished runners-up after losing to Senegal national football team on penalties.
Queiroz’s push to bring De Sa into the setup is viewed as a move to ensure continuity and trust as Ghana prepares for the tournament, set to be hosted in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
De Sa, who has also worked with Portugal and managed Orlando Pirates, is expected to finalise terms soon, with only contractual details remaining before confirmation.
